Some details about the facts above...
I am a new mama, and this has been the most life-changing experience ever! Little miss Eloise Mae is so much fun, she loves: exploring, eating guacamole & drinking from my cup, climbing all over, and her toy bunny whose ears wiggle. She's growing like a weed, and you will surely see pictures of her in my classroom and on my instagram - @MsFriedy
I have a few pets, we have my dog Riley (7 years old now!), and Kaiah (going on 13 this year!) We also have 2 cats, who we rescued from the Riverside kitty trailer situation several years ago. So it is quite a full house.
I am a huge coffee addict and love both Starbucks and Caribou Coffee deeply. I love traveling and trying new foods in new places. Several summers ago for my honeymoon, we were lucky enough to go to Germany & Austria, where I got to try new foods, drinks, and hike the Alps.
In addition to traveling (and planning traveling), snuggling my baby and my pets, I LOVE: food, reading, shopping, and getting out into the outdoors.
I'm a proud Durham transplant, entering my 7th year in the area and 6th year full-time teaching at Riverside. My journey to Durham is an interesting and convoluted one. I hail from the great Midwestern state: Minnesota. While I loved growing up there (and didn't think the cold was too terrible), I wanted to explore more of the United States, so for undergraduate I went to Bryn Mawr College, just outside of Philadelphia. Living in the upper east coast area was a fun adventure for 4 years. I taught in Nashville TN for awhile, before moving back to MN to care for a family friend. I wound up in Durham because of the great Duke M.A.T. program. And have remained happily involved with them since graduation, even having a student teacher.
